Comedy Night at The Aspinall Arms - Friday 19th March 2010

Hosting the show is Chris Tavener:

Warm and engaging, Chris shares his point of view of the world with his audience. Covering everything from current affairs to the family, his observational comedy ranges from dry wit to the completely absurd. He has an assured stage presence, Chris is happy to deliver material or improvise and banter with the audience.

"Likeable and funny" City Life

"Corking set... oozed with confidence" The Frog And Bucket, Manchester

The opening act is Sam Harland:

After surviving two rehabs, various detention centres and a childhood on the streets of Hull, Sam draws on his wealth of experience to bring you a humorously cynical (yet optimistic) slant on life. Sharp witted and charismatic, Sam is a real audience pleaser.

"An exciting talent, the east coast’s equivalent of Peter Kay" Agraman.

The middle part of the show is covered by Curtis Threadgold:

Curtis has played all over the North West and now is spreading over the rest of the country. He has a his own naturally quirky style with some very sharp comments and solid gags.

"A very likeable character on stage, giving the audience regular laughs" Des Sharples, Mirth On Monday

Headline act is the definitely different, Bethany Black:

As the UK’s foremost Goth, lesbian, post-op transsexual stand-up comic, Bethany Black worries about being pigeonholed. So it’s as ‘a recovering alcoholic, drug addict and love addict' with two failed suicide attempts behind her' that she'd rather be seen when she appears at The Aspinall’s Friday Fun n Frolics.

"Brilliant!" BBC Radio

"Bethany Black's comedy career should live happily ever after."

The Scotsman
